As a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, Dr. Gavin Nixon is dedicated to helping patients reduce pain and improve functioning through a comprehensive, patient-centered approach. Dr. Nixon specializes in cutting-edge regenerative medicine treatments, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and bone marrow concentrate, which contains stem cells, injections offering patients innovative alternatives to surgery.

Dr. Nixon’s decision to become a physician was driven by a desire to help patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life. Known for his empathetic and collaborative bedside manner, he prioritizes patient education, empowering individuals with a clear understanding of their condition and treatment options. His goal is to guide patients through the healing and rehabilitation process, encouraging them to take an active role in their recovery.

A native Alaskan, Dr. Nixon grew up in the state and is proud to serve the local community by providing advanced, evidence-based pain management care. After completing his training, he returned to Alaska in 2025 to offer patients access to advanced treatments and compassionate care.

Dr. Nixon completed his residency in PM&R at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and pursued an interventional spine fellowship at Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, where he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and interventional management of spine disorders.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Nixon is an avid hiker, runner, and world traveler, who thrives on exploring nature and staying active. His passion for the outdoors mirrors his commitment to helping patients return to the activities they love.
