Brian W. Abbott, D.O., RMSK, is board certified in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Primary Care Sports Medicine. He is also registered in musculoskeletal sonography (RMSK), reflecting his focus on precise evaluation of musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Abbott has called Maine home since beginning his residency training at Eastern Maine Medical Center in 2005, with additional professional experiences in Alaska, Montana, and fellowship training in Michigan. Originally from the Washington, D.C. suburbs, he values the balance Maine offers between rural living and access to the outdoors. He enjoys the close connection between community, environment, and overall well-being.

Dr. Abbott provides care with the understanding that physical activity, musculoskeletal health, and overall well-being are closely interconnected. He recognizes that the human body is complex and that injuries are unique to each individual, which guides his personalized approach to care. He takes pride in developing individualized treatment plans designed to support function and long-term health. Dr. Abbott blends osteopathic philosophy with regenerative orthopedics, integrating principles such as the relationship between structure and function and the body’s capacity for self-healing. Outside of medicine, he enjoys mountain biking, running, skiing, hiking, camping, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and their pets.
